Each year the Festival invites local artists to come down and
demonstrate their artistic talents. In the past we’ve invited Utah
Calligraphers, The Salt Lake Knitting Guild, and The Glass Guild from
Illinois. Watching artists “at work” gives patrons the opportunity to
see the artistic process, learn about a new medium and ask questions of
the artists about their craft.
This year will feature the work of Sarinda Jones, Deborah Hart, and Cheryl Deis.
Sarinda Jones
Reflective Art Studio owner Sarinda Jones currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sarinda is currently a member of Glass Art Guild of Utah. Sarinda’s minimalist approach gives her kilnformed work a contemporary feel and illuminates the simple beauty of glass. Sarinda specializes in creating unique custom glass art and also offers workshops creating art made with glass.

Anne Carroll Gilmour
Wildwest Woolies Textile Art
Anne has been fascinated with interlacements of color and texture all her life. She was brought up in Colonial Williamsburg, a living history community in Virginia, and was introduced to traditional methods of fiber processing and fabric construction at an early age by renowned Scottish Master Weaver Norman Kennedy who was an interpreter there. She also began knitting and designing around the age of 8, and early intensive training in Scottish Tartan Weaving served to hone her basic skills and helped to develop her noted eye for proportion and color harmony. She has been fortunate to study under some of the best teachers and mentors in textiles; Sharon Alderman, Kaffe Fassett, Randall Darwall and of course Norman Kennedy.
She has worked in fiber full time for the past 18 years, and from her studio in the beautiful & inspiring mountains of Park City, Utah for the past 13 years. Represented in Park City By: Artworks Gallery 460 Historic Main Street.
Anne will be demonstrating her weaving and fiber arts inside the SHARE Space on the Main Floor of the Library during the Festival.
Deborah Hart
Jewelry and Surface Design
Deborah creates each of her designs by hand using traditional, contemporary and original bead weaving techniques along with handmade, altered and recycled textiles. By not limiting herself to one genre, one piece may have classic elegance while the next can encompass ethnic, contemporary or avant-garde design elements. She seeks to create unique art that is challenging and will bring joy to the collector. Her work has been collected by local, national and international clients.
Cheryl Deis
Cheryl Deis, of Enchanted Eye Studio, will provide a demonstration of glass bracelet forming. Explaining the steps to preparing strips of glass that will become a bracelet, she will provide examples of each stage of the formation process culminating in the hot manipulation of glass into the final bracelet shape.
