Mayor's Artist Awards PDF E-mail

Since 1992, the Mayor’s Office has honored artists and organizations from Salt Lake City who make a significant contribution to the cultural life of our community. Four awards are presented to recipients in the following categories: Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Literary Arts and Outstanding Service to the Arts. Recipients are recognized at the Closing Night Reception, held in the Urban Room of the City Library.

The 2008 Mayor's Artist Awards

The Utah Arts Festival and the Mayor’s Office are pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s Awards:

  • Visual Arts – Edward Bateman
  • Performing Arts – Jerry Rapier
  • Literary Arts – Lisa Bickmore
  • Service to the Arts by an Individual – Maria Garciaz
  • Service to the Arts by an Organization – The Utah Cultural Alliance

Mayor Becker will honor the recipients at the Festival on Friday, June 27th on the Festival Stage at 7:30 pm.
